Exalting God. Extending God’s Kingdom. Following that calling we… worship together, walk together and work together.
Worship Together
We were created and redeemed to bring God glory.
“(men and women) from every nation, and all tribes, peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb (crying) out with a loud voice saying, “Salvation to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb … be blessing and honor and glory and power forever.”
Isaiah 56:7; Luke 19:46; Revelation 5:11-14; 7:9
Walk Together
We are called to a journey of faith, pursuing God in Christ together as a community.
“May they all be one … so the world would know Your love, and believe.” John 17:20-23; Romans 12:1, 2; Ephesians 4:1-6
Work Together
We are called to extend God’s kingdom in word and deed.
“But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” Matthew 5:16; I Corinthians 12:7; Galatians 6:9, 10; Ephesians 2:10; 4:7, 11-16
St. Jude is the patron saint of lost causes and impossible tasks. We were once viewed as “lost causes” and the world says that our calling as a reconciling and transforming influence in our neighborhood is an impossible task. But “with God all things are possible.” (Luke 1:37)
Our leadership is from a wide diversity of Christian traditions. We are a mission of the Episcopal Diocese. “Episcopal” is latin for “Bishop” and our movement was formed as a compromise between Catholics and Protestants. St. Jude’s is a place where people seeking Jesus from all backgrounds can find a caring and challenging Christian community.
